The Same Three Building Blocks for Every Environment
Three building blocks make up the architecture, and the same three serve every environment. The beam switch aggregates pencil beams and switches traffic between them, as Ethernet packets or as circuits. Endpoint radios come as a chip, a module or a unit, on any host. Beam management software computes a focused beam for each endpoint’s location, schedules every link and redraws the network on demand.

-
Beam switches
One aperture on the ceiling or wall serves an aisle. It aggregates beams, carries the uplink, and replaces the top-of-rack management tier instead of adding to it.
-
Endpoint radios
A pluggable xSFP form factor is the design goal: standard Ethernet on the host side, a focused D-band beam on the air side, up to 100G per link in generation one (target).
-
Beam management software
Crafts a beam per endpoint, schedules every link, and makes quarantine, re-homing and management domains software operations.
Technology
Above 100 GHz the wavelength is short enough that an aperture you can mount on a switch creates a radiative near field that spans the aisle. Within it, energy can be concentrated on one receiver, which changes what a wireless link can be.
